the procedures leading up to the start of production is

generation of excess scrap, a poor fitting product, and a
high rate of customer returns.

the production of a style amounts to a disaster that could
include several thousand partially complete upper, and or
finished product.

What are Pattern and Technical Issues?
Patterns are the components that all
production equipment is based on. Patterns are also
the item that determines )to name a few) material usage, fit
(on the foot), overall appearance, and in many cases
productivity.
Technical issues are anything that will
effect the productivity adn overall durability of the
product, and need to be handled before production starts.
